Harry’s Small Class Size Theory

Although the seventh Harry Potter book really was the last one, author J.K. Rowling still continues to engage with Harry Potter fans, answering different questions about the wizarding world that fans may have. Since the seventh book really was the last one, though, fans have started making their own magic and letting their imaginations go wild while filling in some of the holes.

One of the Harry Potter fan theories fans have came up with has to do with the small size of Harry’s class. Rowling had revealed to fans that there are only about 1,000 students that attend Hogwarts. This gave fans something to do with their time while they tried to figure out how all of that actually adds up. Since there are only 1,000 students at Hogwarts then there would be around 35 students in each of the houses during the year. However, it was seen that there were only around 10 during the year that Harry Potter was there. Although there could be unnamed students in Harry’s class, a fan thinks this is not likely.

A fan’s perspective on the 10 student class is that there were less during Harry’s year because the other kids would have actually been conceived during the peak of Voldemort’s reign of power. During the time when dozens of adults had joined the order, civilians were killed in the Death Easter raids and many of the adults didn’t want to bring a child into the world during that time. There actually was a baby drought during that time for a few years, which led to a smaller class size during the time that Harry was in school.  It’s one of the best movies of all time, and these theories just add to that mythos.

Sujit Choudry Is The I. Michael Heyman Professor Of Law At The University of California

Comparative law is an area of specialization in law that delves into the relationship between laws of different justice systems across the world. This discipline draws the parallels and the distinctions between laws of different countries. The findings of this field of study provide a glimpse of legal cultures of specific countries and how they are related to other nations.

Comparative Law is imperative when one wants to understand the justice system of countries. With the world becoming a global village, there has been a growing need in understanding different justice dispensations, and this consequently informs the process of formation of international laws.

More often than not, legislators infer from other legal systems when drafting laws for their countries. Judges also deduce from judgments made by other juries when making decisions. They draw leads and inspiration from laws made across the globe so as to come up with informed decisions.

Many students are now considering a career in comparative law. Institutions of higher learning are now keen on developing curriculums around this discipline. Some of the legal systems from which scholars and law students base their research on include Jewish Law, Islamic Law, and Common Law. The findings help to seal legal vacuums in constitutions of various countries.

George Soros Wants To Bring Social Justice to the World

The Billionaire for Social Justice

Usually, people don’t associate wealthy billionaires with support for the Progressive Left, but this is exactly what defines George Soors. Nobody else has made such a big deal out of doing everything possible to give the Left the financial support that it needs and to make a way forward that allows the Left to enact the goals it has set out. He has supported the Left for decades with his billion dollar fortune and plans on doing everything he can to make sure the Left is able to win. Naturally, conservatives have attacked him and created a false image of what George Soros is.

The Scapegoat of the Right

Conservatives have made a hobby out of turning Soros into the source of everything they believe is wrong with the world. In the rants of Glenn Beck and other prominent conservatives a clear theme can be seen of accusing him of using his wealth to take over the world by spreading a globalist agenda. Some even go further and accuse him of spreading communism throughout the world. In neither case is this actually correct. George Soros is a hedge fund manager and by extension a capitalist. He simply doesn’t have any vested interest in trying to spread any ideology that would hamper the accumulation of wealth. Read more about George’s life story at biography.com.

Standing Up To Donald Trump

Donald Trump and George Soros did not get along last year during the election. 2016 marked the return of Soros into politics and the entrance of Trump into politics. The two billionaires opposed each other on just about every major issue. Soros is generally a fan of immigration and free trade while Trump has made fighting both of these issues an important part of his agenda. After the victory of Donald Trump George Soros made it clear he wanted to do everything he could to stop him from enacting his agenda.

What He Wants To See In The Future

The short term future for the Left doesn’t look too good, but Soros believes it is important for the Left to remain vigilant. The Right currently has the lion’s share of power in America, but if the Left continues to endure they will be able to take back power once again from Trump.

About George Soros

George Soros is a philanthropist who has used his wealth to improve the world around him. He has a strong interest in social justice and a firm belief in doing what is right for others. Although many on the Right criticize him, he continues to do everything he can to help those around him and make the world a better place.

Halvorssen: Human Rights First

You need to know only a little about Thor Halvorssen’s youth and young adulthood to understand how he became involved in human rights activism. His mother, Hilda Mendoza Denham was shot and wounded during a protest that started out peaceful but turned violent when Venezuela officials unexpectedly opened fire on the protestors. While she was one of twelve persons injured, one woman was killed. Additionally, when Halvorssen was a freshman in college, his dad was arrested while investigating the Medellin cartel for fraud and money laundering. He was held for nearly 3 months on trumped-up charges and nearly killed, though eventually released.

It was in 1999 that Thor became the first CEO and executive director of the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE). It was that same year that he led a campaign at Lucent Technologies that was aimed at stopping China from using slave labor to make Lucent products; China is known to imprison millions of its citizens in forced labor camps producing various consumer products. He proposed that China be required to certify that slave labor was not used in fabricating any of the company’s products. This effort met with at least some success.

It was these experiences and doubtless many others that led Halvorssen to create, and helm, the Human Rights Foundation. Incorporated in 2005, the HRF stated that its mission was to adopt the same motivating principle as the original human rights movement, that is,to oppose tryranny while championing self-determination. Headquartered in New York City, political prisoner luminaries such as Vladimir Bukovsky, Harry Wu and Elie Wiesel sit, or have sat, on its International Council. Watch Video Here.

Halvorssen is a frequent critic of Ugandan President, Yoweri Museveni, for his nation’s imposition of the death penalty for homosexuality; he is no fan of Hugo Chavez either, citing Venezuela’s anti-Semitic practices and policies. Halvorssen even exposed the fact that celebrities Jennifer Lopez, 50 Cent, and Mariah Carey, to name just a few, had accepted money from dictators. Halvorssen at LinkedIn .

As a producer, Halvorssen uses the medium of film to shed light on violations of human rights the world over. The Moving Picture Institute was founded by Halvorssen and he is currently producing a film adaptation of The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Robert Heinlein.
