Court gives government the go-ahead for warrant-less wiretaps

RT
A federal appeals court ruled Tuesday that the government is immune to wireless wiretapping lawsuits in a decision that the plaintiff’s attorney says releases Washington and the White House from ever being held accountable for spying on citizens.

A three-judge panel serving the US Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in California canceled an attempt from the attorney representing the now-defunct al-Haramain Islamic Foundation to hold the federal government accountable for wiretapping his clients without a warrant, despite previously winning a federal case on the argument that the interception of phone records occurred illegally.

The mother of a four-year-old girl caught drawing on rocks with chalk on public property has been ordered to serve 50 hours of community service for her crime.

Mother Susan Mortensen, 29, was offered the exchange of community service over a fine of $2,500 after police in Richmond, Virginia ticketed her in March over her daughter’s ‘graffiti’ work.

‘It is all the same thing,’ Ralph White, park manager of the James River Park Systems told NBC12. ‘A couple weeks ago I was covering pornographic drawings done in chalk. It doesn’t matter what the medium is. It’s offensive.’

“As protocol he was handcuffed behind his back and double locked, and searched”, said Sergeant Lyle Waterworth, Jonesboro Police.

Somehow minutes later police say they heard a thumping noised, turned around and found Chavis dead, shot in the head, in the back of the squad car.

The Department of Homeland Security has ordered masses of riot gear equipment to prepare for potential significant domestic riots at the Republican National Convention, Democratic National Convention and next year’s presidential inauguration.

The DHS submitted a rushed solicitation to the Federal Business Opportunities site on Wednesday, which is a portal for Federal government procurement requisitions over $25,000. The request gave the potential suppliers only one day to submit their proposals and a 15-day delivery requirement to Alexandria, Virginia.

As the brief explains, “the objective of this effort is to procure riot gear to prepare for the 2012 Democratic and Republican National Conventions, the 2013 Presidential Inauguration and other future similar activities.”

ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) — Hundreds of mostly peaceful demonstrators on Sunday took to the Anaheim streets again to protest two recent fatal police shootings. At one point, the large crowd made its way toward the Disneyland entrance, but police were able to turn the crowd away.

Protesters dressed in white started out at the Anaheim Police Department headquarters, where police officers were present around the building as well as on the roof.

The crowd marched down Harbor Boulevard toward Disneyland around 2 p.m. and were met by police in riot gear who prevented them from reaching the resort entrance.

Police on horseback flanked the crowd as they marched down the road. Some demonstrators could be heard chanting, “Whose streets? Our streets.”

Calenche Ranae Manos, a former Miss Nevada 2007, says in her lawsuit that the incident happened on the night of November 15, 2011.

Manos and her fiancee, Eric Otto Ryder, say deputies had a search warrant for apartment “C” but entered their unit — clearly marked as apartment “A.”

Deputies burst into wrong home looking for suspect
KABC
Two Baldwin Park residents say they had no idea what was going last Thursday night when deputies violently burst into their home looking for a man who was not there.

A woman, who only asked to be identified as Linda, and her roommate Steve say they prepared to die after they awoke to the sound of their security door being blown off its hinges, followed by two loud blasts.

“He runs in my room, its dark, ‘Linda oh my God!’ And he is screaming at me, ‘They’re shooting us, they’re killing us, they’re going to kill us, they’re coming in, oh my God!’”

The two retreated to Linda’s bathroom terrified at what was coming for them.

That’s when they heard Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies with the San Dimas station telling them to come out with their hands up.

“So I went outside with my hands up, all kinds of red dots went on me and my heart dropped,” said Steve.

Linda stayed behind, grabbed her cell phone and dialed 911. Meanwhile, Steve says he was outside letting deputies know exactly how he felt.

“I am yelling at them the whole time like, ‘Why did you have to rip my door off? Why did you do that? Just say hey, the sheriff’s department. The window was wide open. I would have came and opened it up for you.’ They said ‘Shut up!’ and started shocking me,” he said.

hot dog standThis summer, 13-year-old Nathan Duszynski wanted to make some money to help out his disabled parents—his mom has epilepsy and his dad has multiple sclerosis. So he decided to open a hot dog stand. He saved $1,200, mostly money made by mowing lawns and shoveling snow. He checked with the city to make sure he didn’t need any licenses or permits, even going to city hall in person with his mom. And then he bought a cart. (Yep, that’s hot dog’s from Nathan’s, for those who are keeping score at home.)

Police abuse beat rape kill unarmed Citizens

an unarmed man was shot and killed in the southbound lane of I-185 in Columbus by a Muscogee County Sheriffs Office deputy. The 39-year-old victim was shot twice in the head with a 9mm MP5 submachine gun. Dougherty County D.A. Ken Hodges was appointed to handle the case by Georgia Attorney General Thurbert Baker.

Kenneth Brian Walker was a middle-class African American man with no prior criminal record who was employed at Blue Cross at the time of the shooting. It was determined that the vehicle Walker was riding in fit the description that police had of some armed gang members. The police made the traffic stop, ordered all four passengers to the ground, but opened fire when the deputy could not see one of Walker’s hands. No drugs or guns were found in the vehicle.
