Human Head Found Behind Shopping Center In Pasadena

On August 6, 2012, at approximately 2:47 p.m., members of the Anne Arundel County Police Department were dispatched to a wooded area behind the 8100 block of Ritchie Highway in Pasadena, Maryland, for the discovery of human remains.
Upon arrival, a citizen stated that he was walking into the wood line when he discovered what appeared to be a human skull. The Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Homicide Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigative responsibility. A search team was formed in an effort to recover additional human remains. This team included members of the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division as well as volunteers using cadaver dogs from the Chesapeake Search Dogs and the Mason Dixon Search and Rescue Dogs, Inc.
The body was recovered within the wooded area after an extensive search by all parties involved. The unidentified person was sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for identification and determination of the cause and manner of death. The investigation is ongoing.
