“Channeling Elizabeth Warren,” in the words of Jazz Shaw at Hot Air, Barack Obama said that successful Americans “didn’t get there” on their own. In other words your a lazy dumb American who needs government to make you successful.
The official transcript relates:
There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me — because they want to give something back. They know they didn’t — look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own.( No you didn’t do it yourself because it was Obama and government who made you successful) I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there.( People who take risks are successful) It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there. [Emphasis added]
He continued:
If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. ( A system Obama says doesn’t work. Which is it Obama) Somebody invested in roads and bridges. ( roads are now owned by foreign companies its called PPP) If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that.( nope you didn’t you didn’t take the risk and work long hours to be successful only government does that) Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet ( actually private companies helped make the internet including Australia)
Clinton did not have a surplus, more trickery to fool stupid Americans, Clinton didn’t count inter government debt the news doesn’t even report the truth on this issue. Clinton had a debt. First off Clinton borrowed against the social security fund making more inter government debt.
FY1993 09/30/1993 -debt $4.411488 trillion
FY1994 09/30/1994- increased debt $4.692749 trillion - $281.26 billion
FY1995 09/29/1995 – increased debt $4.973982 trillion - $281.23 billion
FY1996 09/30/1996 – increased debt $5.224810 trillion - $250.83 billion
FY1997 09/30/1997 – increased debt $5.413146 trillion - $188.34 billion
FY1998 09/30/1998 – increased debt $5.526193 trillion - $113.05 billion
FY1999 09/30/1999 – increased debt $5.656270 trillion - $130.08 billion
FY2000 09/29/2000 – increased debt $5.674178 trillion - $17.91 billion
FY2001 09/28/2001 – increased debt $5.807463 trillion - $133.29 billion
This does not add in inter government debt, which means its even higher because they don’t report inter government debt.
As can clearly be seen, in no year did the national debt go down, nor did Clinton leave President Bush with a surplus.
